“Raise up then, O spirit of purity, souls who, like those sanctified beings, will become free and pure, will adorn the world of being with a new raiment and a wondrous robe, will seek no one else but Thee, tread no path except the path of Thy good pleasure and will speak naught but the mysteries of Thy Cause.” —‘Abdu’l-Baha, Baha’i Prayers
I love water lilies! The spiritual symbolism of that beautiful flower really resonates with me. It emerges from the muddy depths of dark water, its petals opening and awakening to the light of day. As such, the lotus is symbolic of a pure human spirit rising above impurity to find its true station; seeking spiritual enlightenment. The lotus has great significance in many religions, including the Baha’i Faith. Little wonder the design of the Lotus Temple in India reflects such attributes! Thus, these prayer beads were created with the spiritual symbolism of the lotus in mind. This set incorporates milky sea glass beads to represent the Lotus Temple in India, surrounded by lotus flowers ( pink beads). A silver lotus charm connects the two sections of the prayer beads, and a tiny silver drop imprinted with a lotus hangs from one end.
